I'm assuming, based on the year of the car, that the tranny is a T5? They are all 10 spline inputs. No they are not better than a 26 spline input, infact, they are weaker. That's why when you buy an aftermarket tranny, such as a TKO, it comes with 26 splines. More splines equal greater strength.
As lxarlo said...you need a 10 spline clutch kit. Just tell the idiot at the counter at your local parts store that you need a clutch for your mustang T5 tranny and you'll be all set. I say idiot because all they hire anymore is a bunch of dummy's that don't know a ring and pinion from a throttle body. If they didn't have a computer to help them, they would be lost. I hate going to a parts store anymore. Sorry for the rant....

i have a couple family owned places i go to and they seem to know what they are talking about usually, just wondering about the clutch quadrant, anyone have any advice?

I can't say anything, all my parts stores are full of idiots too, who don't know the difference between a 5.0 and a 4.6.
There's several quadrants you could use, there's BBK, Steeda, UPR, among lots of others.

i can one up that the wife stop to get turn signal bulbs for here car(front) so the guy in the store was going to install it for her...
needless to say he could not figure it out....
but that not the bad part after she told me the story....
i asked her to give me the bulbs so i could install them .....
the "idiot" had given her clear bulbs instead of amber after he had been out to the car......
i do agree with you and richard.....
i was just busting richard's chops......
