Question Ignition Trouble after replacing clutch

I just replaced my clutch, And I had to get a new battery, Once I put the trans. back to the block, I timed it, with the key OUT of the ignition, I Hooked up the neg. terminal and when I went to put the positive on she started cranking over! My MSD ignition coil wires should be hooked up right, but im a little stumped.

i had a similar problem and it ended up being my ignition module. it was fried. its located right under the steering wheel its a pretty inexpensive part. i think 15 at advanced auto. it could be a lot of things tho

Even with the clutch engaged, it was cranking over by connecting the negative cable?

Did you take the wires loose from the starter relay? Sounds like you hooked the starter wire up to wrong side of relay...

Nope all the wires on the relay are all hooked up right. Alot of my wiring is jerry rigged, and my wiring skills arent good enough to get a wiring harness from painless! It would help to know what color wires go the the positive and negitive post on my MSD blaster 2, I think it was red w/ green to the + and green w/ yellow on the -.

Well your starter is on a 4 ga wire hooked to the relay unless you have a newer mini starter which would be hooked different. Do you still have the big 4inch starter or the smaller 3" mini starter? Your starter is getting power full time. Either wires are backwards or your relay is stuck on.

How could my relay be stuck on? The + from the battery goes to the + on my relay, the - on the battery grounds to the block, the - on my relay goes to the 4" reg. starter?? It Frustrating!!!

Your relay wouldnt be stuck on, because your key would still have to be forward. Unless your relay was completely fried, try taking the ignition wire off (single wire on top) See if that fixes it ,if it doesnt then you have a bad relay. If it does: Is your ignition in the off pos?
