Default Lose Horse Power?

I'm going to be adding Magnaflow catback exhaust to my mustang in a little while and was wondering if I'll lose horse power since my mustang is mainly stock at the moment? All i have now is cold air induction and msd ignition. Will I get enough air to the exhaust with those stock headers and H-pipe? Eventually I'll be putting new headers on but will i be alright until then? I know you're probably saying add the headers first but Magnaflow is expensive and since i have the money I'm going to buy the expensive stuff first. And another thing, is it possible to lose horse power with cold air induction? Its in my fenderwell and I'm pretty sure its just psychological but i feel like i've lost a tiny bit of acceleration when my car warms up. Sorry about all the questions, lol. Thanks!

Adding a aftermarket exhaust system will not rob you of any horsepower. If anything it will add a couple. Installing the cat back system is a normal starting point for most people. I have done it myself. Adding the headers and h-pipe later will only compliment the system you are going to get. Make sure it is at least 2.5in diameter in size.(the cat back system)

As to your question about the cold air induction the fenderwell type is perferred. They other type where the conical filter is visible in the engine compartment is ok ,but has one big disadvantage,-underhood heat. This will cause hard starts when you shut it down after 15-25min (hotsoak) as well as lose horsepower due to the hot underhood air it is breathing. An engine likes cool fresh air and lots of it.

So keep the mods coming and let us know how you make out.
