Default Which hood pins to get????

I have recently purchased a cervinis 1.5" mach 1 ram air hood. I have heard that it is wise to get hood pins to keep from having it fly up while driving at speed. My question is what looks and works best for an 89 gt and where do you hook them in?

On my last GT, I had the same model hood, only it was made by Cincinatti Composites (live and learn). The latch area was not reinforced and of course it cracked the first time I closed it. I took out the threaded rubber snubbers and the threaded pieces, and bolted in a pair of inexpensive Mr. Gasket pins in the same holes. I gently closed the hood on the pins, dimpling the underside, and CAREFULLY started drilling.

This car has a Cervini cowl, and the craftsmanship is so much better. It doesn't need pins, but I might go with the safety hood pins, the ones with the cables attached, for looks and piece of mind.

Good luck!

So Cervini hoods come with a safety latch that the stock hood has? I just dont want to have an accident because i heard the fiberglass hoods vibrated a lot more and can pop open. Is there no hood pins designed for the fox?

I used the locking type, they sit flush on the hood, and gaurd against anyone being able to simply pop open your hood and help themselves to your goodies under it !

I agree. I put the locking type on mine and it looks great as well as being more secure.

Do you have a picture of this type of hood pin or where to get them? I did a quick search and couldnt find anything.
