if your replacing it with another one just like it, its easy, if you use a firewall adjuster with it, you have to route it a different way.
basically pops off your old quadrant and unhooks from your tranny. the only two problems is pulling it out as it might get caught on stuff , and prying back the clutch fork so you can slide the end off of it.
Cool i got pretty good knowlegde when it comes to this stuff just not as expierenced in the hands on department,i did manage to swap a whole steering column in a stang last year in about an hour and a half,so i know i'm probally capable of doing it..How long do you figure it would tale?and how do i know when the clutch is adjusted properly?
how do i know when the clutch is adjusted properly?
it is a self adjusting clutch, that's what the job of the quadrant is.
should take about 30 minutes tops. longest part is jacking up the car to get under it and press the fork towards the front of the car and slipping the ball in. it's pretty tight for space under the dash . the place where the clutch cable goes in is way up there. just when you think you see it, it's a little bit higher up.
it was easy for me to get under my dash and change out the quadrant, but you really only have to reach under there if you can.. the give yourself 30 minutes just for pulling the cable out.. doesnt take that long, but it likes to hang up on stuff.
