Check over the rest of the wiring in the circuit...the box could be good but bad wiring will cause the light to go off every so often.

Would a failing clockspring cause the air bag light to come on sometimes, (usually every fourth or fifth start)????

Sure, anything is possible, I dont think mileage has anything to do with it. For example I bought a 02 GT Brand New and a Sensor Failed on the Trip home from buying it, had less than 50 miles on it! Since the clock spring is the most common cause of a Code 34 and you are at your wits ends then I would have a look at it, what is it going to hurt?

Is there any way to look at it and see that its broken? Or just assume?
Thanks for all the help,
Ryan

So check for frayed or cut wires??? It came on again today and if you shut the car off and start it again it goes away.

I would check and clean the connections for the Clock Spring, and then you can always move on and look at the wiring and connections at the Monitor.

Ok, I will. And the Clockspring is right behind the airbag right? All I need to do is disconnect the battery and remove the bag right?
