Default Mini starter for header install??

I bought some summit/flowtech long tube headers for my 90 LX 5spd, some people tell me I have to get a mini starter, others tell me the stock one is good enough for the longtubes to clear. Who's right???

they should work with stock starter, but the heat will be rough on it. when you do have to get new starter, buy mini starter.

You can just get one from a 94-95 it is a mini, just have to run a 16ga wire to starter from the relay as it has its own relay.

Keep the one you have until it dies but in the mean time get some starter wrap so it doesn't get heat soaked from the long tubes and die on you when you need it most. When you need to get another you can reuse the heat wrap and make that one last longer too.
