All longblocks (includes heads) are the same from '87-'95, except for cam and pistons (see below). They all have cast crankshaft (2MAE), forged rods, hydraulic roller cam and lifters, and E7TE-PA cylinder heads with 1.78" intake valves and 1.46" exhaust valves.
Late '88...cam specs changed.
Late '92...pistons changed from forged aluminum to cast aluminum (hypereutectic).
'87-'92 = 225 HP
'93 = 205 HP (LX 5.0L/GT) and 235 HP (Cobra)
'94-'95 = 215 HP (GT/GTS) and 240 HP (Cobra)
Cobra got GT-40 heads (w/ Crane roller rockers) and Thunderbird cam. Everything else was same as 5.0L LX and GT.
