I just put oil in my tranny and used mercon V, the haynes called for mercon, I could only find "mercon V", and the guy said its the same thing as mercon. right?

i own a 87 gt i have a t5 trans out of a 94 i put it in now the motor will not turn over i think it is the longer input shaft on the 94 trans can i put the one out of my 87 in it

Astro performance makes a high performance gear set and case reinforcement. They call the rebuilt unit an a-5. I thnk i'm going to rebuild mine using this kit if i have any trouble.

So putting a 4-cyl T-5 behind a 5.0 is a no-no, but what about using the 5.0/V6 version of the T-5 behind a 2.3L four banger? Is there a way to solve the problem of the too-big input shaft?

I'm looking to get a T-5 to swap into my turbo 2.3L Merkur XR4Ti...Mustangs are much easier to find, so I was hoping to figure out what the best donor car would be. This is for a race car, so having something really solid would be nice.
