Default 1990 Mustang LX, plug wire question

i have a 90 lx with long tube headers on it and the second spark plug from the firewall on the drivers side is close to the header so when i put the plug wire on it the boot of it sits against the header and melts and then the metel from the boot is exposed and it arks to the header...does anyone know of a special spark plug or wire set that wont cause that prob. thank you

I added billet wire looms along w/ some fiberglass sleeves. Alls it takes is for one wire to be burnt and it cost as almost much to replace as it does to prevent!

You either need to get "shorty" spark plugs, or get plug wires that have a straight or 45 degree end on them.

go buy a 5 foot roll of engine heat wrap, and neatly put a band on all your wires near the headers

90* boots from a smallblock chevy would work well in this case.

What wires are they? You could use some vari-angle boots like MSD or Accel to get it away from the header tube. Some boot protectors really work too, I had that problem so I got some protectors 8 years ago and haven't had a burned boot since.
