Was backing out of the driveway when engine suddenly quit. Pushed back into garage, car has no ignition, and fuel pump does not come on. I checked the inertia switch, however it hasn't tripped. Accesories turn on with key, starter works fine, but can't get spark. Checked MSD 6AL, it has continuity, not sure what else I should be checking. Please help me solve this problem.
Hey TWISTER!
Thanks a hell of a lot! I pulled the ignition switch (I own a Haynes manual so I figured out how to remove it myself) and tested it. I had a couple failures in continuity so I believe I found the problem. I'll replace tomorrow and check back here. Anybody else have suggestions please feel free to post. Thanks a lot Twister!
Thanks again!

make sure when you put the ignition switch on, that the bar is in the hole and not to the side of it. When I replaced mine, I wasnt completely in the hole and when I put the keys up , a huge cloud of white smoke came out and burned the plastic completely.
Hey guys, i replaced the ignition switch this morning, and i still get nothing. The problem is I need the car in a couple hours
please help me if anybody is out there.

Sounds like the EEC power relay. It powers the spark and it energizes the fuel pump relay. If neither is working I would bet this is the problem. It's located right above the EEC computer in the right side kick panel. If you drop the glove box, you should be able to get to it. RAY
Disconnect wire that goes to distributor from ignition coil.
Have someone try to start the car while you bring the wire close the the AC unit. Or (be safe here) stick a screwdriver in the boot of that wire. No sound or spark (remember have someone try to turn the car over!) ignition coil is bad. Takes 15 mins and 15 dollers to fix.
I had a problem just like yours and spent 2 weeks and 150 bucks working on fuel system.
This exact same thing happened to me, and I replaced EVERYTHING until I found it!
Actually I fixed one, only to be plagued with another. FIRST, check the fusible link going to the computer. Make sure it is getting voltage. Second, swap the TFI module on the distributor. It wouldn't hurt to have a spare anyway. Just be sure to pick up the special tool to remove it while you are at the parts store.
When the TFI fails, it usually kills the spark and fuel pump voltage. To happen that sudden, I rather doubt is was a fusible link.
Good Luck!
