hey guys i am on my way to the beach and my clutch starts to slip, and i almost have nothing in 5th gear, and i was stoping and i pushed my clutch in it went soft and stayed in and wouldnt come back out, so i pulled over and i had it neutrull and it stalled? so i got out and wiht my hand pulled the clutch out and pushed in it again and it was fine just a little weird, then i put it in 1st gear and started itup and my engine sounded like it was dying but it started and i rolled alittle bit but, but when i try and shift gears it wont come out of gear, so i was on the side of the road, so eventullly i turned my car off and put it in 3rd gear and barely got it moving, but did, so therfore i drove 20 miles in 3rd gear but it was fine i just couldnt switch gears, and when ever i stop it stalls no matter if i have the clutch in. sooo what could be wrong???
i just replaced the clutch like 6 k miles ago, it was a FRPP clutch
and i was wondering if it was a hydrolic clutch or not because my friends dad was wondering if it was just the fluid? but i dont know what to do
so help me pleaseee
its a 94 gt wiht a T-5 thank you
anthony
Your car does not have a hydraulic clutch. Sounds like your clutch cable is shot to me. Get a stock replacement. Did you put in a new adjustable when you did the clutch? If so, don't get another - go back with the stock cable and a fire wall adjuster.

i would check the cable also for being stretched. They are $30 at autozone. If you have equal length headers, i would put some insulation around that part of the cable because I've burned two of mine until I finally wrapped them up.
I would also check above the clutch quadrant where the cable rests. Possibly jumped out. When you change your clutch cable, Undo the ball from the clutch fork first, then remove the bolt holding it to the firewall, push the cable towards the inside of the car some to give you slack to remove the cable off the quadrant.
When you put it on , put it on reverse of removal. Make sure before you put the ball inside the clutch fork, that the cable is not in a bind where it meets the quadrant.
150 miles in 3rd gear would be a long agonizing trip. You will need to raise the car and support it with jackstands. Towing it all that way would be very expensive. Aside from it being a long trip, you will be fine cruising in third gear.
i just jacked my car up and removed a little metal piece, that shows the cable so i could look at it and there were pieces of black stuff would that be my clutch and also i had my friend get inside and pump my clutch as i watched the cabel and it was moving fine i guess?
could my clutch of burned up in less than 7k miles? i just replaced the clutch so i dnont think that would be possible? could it?
find a shop with a good reputation .it shouldt be more than $30 but it varies shop to shop. If you find a shop you can trust stay with them, for turning rotors etc. in the end you will be well taken care of and when you need something in a hurry they will know you and want to help. I use 1 machinist and the last 5.0 I built cost me $200 for the head shave cam bearings, boiling the block, truing new eagle rods and line bore an honing, pressing the new pistons, surfacing the flywheel and a valve job after I ported the heads. I tipped him another $100. It's the little things that come back to help when you need them.

I just put a motor in my 94 gt with a King Cobra clutch from ford racing... is that the same clutch u installed??? I dont even have a 1000 miles on the motor clutch and tranny........ and this thing is slipping like crazy...I am soooo pissed off....
How much money and time does it take a shop to resurface a flywheel? I am about to replace my clutch with a new SPEC stage 1 clutch.
Usually a few hours, an about $30..I use to take it to NAPA do lunch, pick it up, and finish

Remember, it is almost impossible for anyone, myself included, to diagnose a problem over the internet without seeing the car. My advice is simply that, advice based on years of experience. I don't want you or anyone taking my word as gospel. I am trying to give some direction as to what I think may be happening.
