Default 1988 Mustang gt transmission grinding

Hey, i have an 88 gt and the guy before me replaced the clutch and the trans but now when i go to shift (5 speed) it grinds a little going into gears when its cold even when the clutch is in all the way. It also pops out of 2nd gear when downshifting or going at steady speed but not when accelerating. just wondering if this could be the synchronizers in the trans going out. I think the second gear thing is a bad motor mount that i need to change. thanks.

I don't think it could have anything to do with the mounts but I could be wrong. it sounds like its time for a rebuild because whoever did the clutch adjusted the clutch cable wrong. the same thing started to happen to my 89 gt after I swapped to a new clutch and I caught it in time but it sounds like its too lat. either time for a rebuild or a new trans.

i had the same issue after i did my 4 banger to v-8 swap...might wanna try getting an adjustable cable/quadrant setup before goin all out on a tranny. i was grinding goin into gears especailly reverse. i bought an adjustable clutch cable/quadrant from UPR and it fixed all my problems! now i can bang the gears just like new...
