i apologize i have made a mistake on three of those part numbers the corrected ones are hok-6222 (headers), tfs-515b0008 (intake manifold), ffp-1262 (intake manifold gaskets) and the only two that are found on latemodelretoration.com is afr-1451 (heads)
and af-f90k (throttle body)....

i have realzed that i dont have a cam that i have desided on there are so many to choose from and im not even sure how to choose.. if somone could help me deside or give me some input i know its alot to ask for somone to go over all of this but u dont have to if u dont want to you dont even have to go over all of it if you somthing wont work together let me know before i deside on ordering the parts... thanks

We'll get you right, there's several here that know engines... Just for future reference, give us the actual links you look at, so we know what they are too.
We also need to know what's the intended use of the car, is there a budget, and is smog legality a concern? I see you're from Canada so that might affect what you can do.

ok lets try this.....

what is the performance level you are seeking....

what will be the primary use of the car.....

Last but not least what is your budget.....

with that info we will get you pointed in the right direction.....

As a matter of facility, I've seen lots of stroker kits on ebay and full short or long blocks for that matter, very reasonably priced to boot...personally I'd rather have a pro pick the parts and build it then try to sort it all out myself...

As another point on strokers, I have a 347 in a 95 GT, I have to admit threre's quite a difference from a stock 302, if your stang is your daily driver you might try to find a 347 to drive first..mine has a 550 lift cam and a 3000 stall, to say it's fairly extreme for the street is putting it mildly...you may want to just give your 302 a quality set of heads and a freshening...

Like Reggie asks, what are your intentions, goals for this car?

hmm well considering i dont owe anything on my car and im just getting the paint done and i have recently bought a new set of rims and tires and i lowerd it and my brother and i rebuilt the rear end putting 3.73 gears in it earlier... i like going all out as u can guess and i bought the car as a project not to get somone else to build it for me. i was hoping there would be some people who know there stuff that can help me so when it comes time to build it i can do it semlessly... i want a big power plant and by big im mean large numbers... not just the avrege car that every one has if worked hard for a one of a kind car and i wanna keep it that way... i hope this helps couse i rilly need help.. i mean all i rilly wanna know is if everything will work out and if somthing better will work im looking for your opinion... but i dont wanna just get somone else to build it for me half the funn is building it yourself

You should still consult with a speed shop on your buildup. I doubt unless I've spoken to soon, that you are equipped with EVERYTHING you will need for the job, tools, lift, dyno, etc. Not trying to strike you down, but it can't hurt to seek out a shop and not a forum.

with a 10k budget you can get a 351 windsor i see you wanna stay fuel injected, so 460 and 351 cleveland is not within the budget, you can even stroke a 351 to a 392 and thats will give you some nice numbers, i think people are recommending having it built for your safety i dont know your abilities but if you are learning or this is your first motor, a 10k motor is not the one to learn on, if your bottom end is not tight your engine will be useless very fast, most of the times the machine shops will assemble a short block for you for next to nothing, just and either way you go i would recommend getting your rotating assembly balanced, blueprinted and the pistons fitted, and use the torque plates on the block, all this may cost a little more but it well worth it a good engine machinist will tell you the same

as for stroker kits eagle, scat and CHP (coast high perf.) all make good kits, there are many varieties such as forged or not, balanced or not and other crap make sure you triple read before buying, when considering a cam keep in mind your power brakes and if you will be running a/c as far as valve clearance im having the same issues with my 331 build, ill just have to do it the old clay method and figure it out myself

Yes i believe you have spoken to soon forums are a great place for opinions and info....

there many people here that build motors similar to the one that is being discussed in fact several of our member are professional engine builder who will give truthful advice rather than shop attempting to sell a product....

in fact i have a 347 that runs in the bottom 10's (soon to be 9's )

so i think that qualifies me to give advice....

sometime during the course of this day i will provide info for the build that is desired ....

and then we will see what you think of forums then....
