Default '92 Mustang Spark Plug Gapping Question

I have '92 Mustang N/A with heads, intake, 24# injectors, MAF, TB, basically all the goodies except for nitrous. I have been having some problems with miss firing while accelerating under WOP. I was told not to have a spark plug gap any more than 0.040. Does that sound reasonable or what would you guys suggest?

Thanks, Ryan

i read soemwhere that the gap for my gt40p heads worked best at .040 when one guy in particular did some testing,so thats what i went with on my P heads,.040 and i have no problems, though i was thinking of opening it up a little more..stock plug gap recommended is .054(for mustangs E7 heads and v8 explorers with gt40 and gt40p heads),but you may not want to go that wide if you still have the stock ignition, sinc it may be a little tired, but maybe .040 is not giving you enuff spark. try opening it up closer to .050 and see if that fixes it,if it runs worse, then just close it up,it shouldnt hurt anything

I guess I did not specify what my gap is set at right now. As of now I have the stock gap, they are set at 0.054 inches. I am thinking they may have widened up a bit over the last two years or so and that is why I am only now having problems. I'll try to close the gap a little bit and see what happens, I was told 0.040, but that just seemed too close, but maybe not.
