Default Setting the timing correctly?

I know I wam going to sound like a complete dunce asking this question, but I am new to Fords and EFI so here goes. How do you set the timing on a speed density car? I read that there is a wire that needs to be disconnected, but I don't know where to find it. There is a plug very close to the distributor that runs to the module (a yellow wire) that I tired disconnecting, but I don't even see the timing mark when I put my light on it. Can someone please help?

On my 86 mustang there is two wires comming out of the distributor and at the end of them is this thing that looks like a fuse just pop that out and you can time the car.

get white chalk, color in the timing marks on the damper, wipe the excess chalk off around the marks you should see the marks when you point the light at it.

Sometimes you have to sand the outer ring of the balancer to expose the marks.Sand it,paint it black and then put TWO marks on it-a paint marker, whit or silver works great.Put the first mark,a dot,on 0 degrees and then put a slash on the 10 degree mark.Makes it real easy to see with the light.Once you have this done, you can even put a mark at the base of the distributor (at the block) at where the dist would be at 10 and 14 degrees. This way it's very easy to put it from 10 to 14 at the track without even using a light.
