Default Valve Spring Question?????

Can I use these valve springs with stock cam, stock heads with 1.7 crane RRs?

If you want you can...usually upgraded springs are for hotter than stock cams...in order to avoid valve float.

That is true, but you have to consider that these cars are getting old and the original springs are probably starting to wear out a bit.

No, your better off changing your cam, and springs. Stay away from the 1.7 R.R's, unless you check your clearance between piston to valve you may have an issue. You also have to change, your push rods they're a different length, Mike SCT Tuner.

I have another question.. Can having old and maybe worn out valve springs hurt 1/4 mile times???

Yes..... valve springs is the most overlooked upgrade in a an engine. 1.7 rockers, or any increase in valve lift, will not cause any PtV problems. If it clears with 1.6 rockers, it will clear with 1.7 or 1.72 rockers.
