Default MSD6al...differences on install on Carb/EFI

I want to install a 6al or atleast the Summit version on my 86. Ive never installed one of these but I know people with these on carbed cars and I would just like to know what I need to do different for the EFI. I was also wondering how everything works as far as what does the computer control after the install, would the Ignition's built in rev limiter work with the computer still intact or do I need to do something with the computer?

The computer still controls timing and such, the ignition box simply intercepts the signals and provides an amplified primary side power to the coil. The rev limiter will work as set on the ignition box as it is in now in line to provide the signal to the coil. The hookup is that you power and ground the box on your own, then you take the signal wires plugged into the coil and run them to the input of the box, next you take the box output wires and wire them to the coil input. There is a simple and relatively cheap plug in harness for these cars that enables you to avoid cutting up the stock harness.

This is all based on the MSD 6AL. There are boxes out there that have adjustable timing advances but this box isn't one of them.
