my vert is 3305, 1/4tank gas. nothing to crazy removed other then passenger seat, jack&spare, weld drag lite rims (maybe 10lbs off stock tires and rims) and aftermarket exhaust... also had my nitrous bottle in the trunk witch was a full 10lb bottle (prob over 20lbs weight)
and my car is a AOD right now, swaping in a T5 very soon.
im planing on alot of weight droping mod's, id like the car to be down to 3200. should only take the T5, aluminum heads, and maybe a hood, or something.
Yeah, but it also weighs more than the 03 GT to, that's crazy. Convertibles are heavy. I always new they were heavier than the GT hatchback, but an 03 Gt, wow I thought convertibles would have a weight advantage on the newer mustangs, I guess not. That means convertibles need a lot more power to keep up to the newer stangs.
bit of trivia for ya - in 87, 88 and part of 89 Ford built 5.0 Notch backs and sent them to Cars & Concepts in Detroit for coversion to verts. Want you vert to weigh like a notch? - pull the top mechanism, A/C and only drive it in good weather
Those 4 gussets under the car don't weigh more than 10 pounds.

my friends 06 GT was 3680 with him in it.
my car the same day was 3550, and im about 20lbs heavyer then he is.
you can save 15lbs just from the hood of the foxbody with a fiberglass hood, theres SO many parts on a fox that can be replaced with lighter aftermarket part's its insane.
i want my car to 3200lbs, with AC, the motor for the top, and all seats in the car/full interior.
top mechanism = convertible top frame and hydraulic cylinders and pump.

If it's a daily driver, don't remove the frame. If you are in Florida, like me, I wouldn't take out the a/c either, unless it's a track car. I took my smog pump off and my aftermarket offroad exhaust weighs less than the factory four catted exhaust.
