hey someone told me i can't run my 351 ported and ploished heads on my 86 302 roller block because the pistons don't have the valve cut outs. Is this true? I also plan on puting in a b-303 cam would it cause problems?
If it's the earlier year 351W heads from 69' to 74', then they are correct as they have larger valves. If later model, they have the same size valves and are no different than the 302 head minus larger head bolt holes.

You heard right, the 1986 pistons have no valve reliefs so you're stuck with stock valves and stock cam until you change them. No matter what heads or cam, those pistons are the problem.

Trick Flow heads will work, I know of a few people running tfs with the flat tops with the stage 1 cam, even with stock releifs the piston is still basically a flat top because of the orientation of the valve and size in the tfs heads. It is still a good idea to check for clearance.
