Default Trickflow 360 hp track heat top end kit

Im about to buy this kit from trick flow
http://www.trickflow.com/partdetail.asp?part=TFS-K514-360350B&view=1&N=400098+150+

i want to know what you think about this kit

and what should i clean or replace while im down there

and also i was going to buy the (absolute) biggest throttle body from bbk (75mm) and 80mm MAF (and 24 pound injectors) but i hear that it might actually hurt me and lose horse power(witch i dont understand) what kind of rear wheel horse power can i expect with that and my other mods i already have

i would like to hear any comments about this setup and cheap prices

that is a great kit. your throttle body selection is ok, maybe go to the 76 mm maf, but you should be good.

the only thing i recommend is getting the blue valve conver gaskets instead of the cork ones the kit comes with. i say that because you will prob adjust your rocker arms a couple of times and you will want the reusable gasket.

also you need to get new lifters. there not expensive, i think like 40$ for some ford racing ones.

Im happy with my street heat kit, I bought it from summit, summit wont charge extra for the black powdercoated manifold and covers as opposed to the grey like most other places do. Those ratings Trickflow gives like the? 360hp 350tq are based on a freshly built 306ci which can make the numbers a little different.

New lifters, oh and your going to have to tap the valve cover for the little oil filler tube I remember that kinda threw me off when installing because everything else went together like legos. With the new throttle body your going to want a bigger EGR to match it. I cant see how going to the larger MAF and TB can hurt but you might not get the boost your looking for out of it. Might as well check/replace your vacuum line going to the intake, mine were in bad condition. after the kit and the injectors its time for ignition!

oh yes! just remembered.. you cant run summit injectors on trickflow's manifold and im not sure what other brands are like these but theyre just a tad bit too fat, and only FRPP injectors can be used or a brand that is exactly the same size,

That kit is awesome..I work for summit...you should get it from us intead of trickflow directly....save yourself a lil money. smaller MAF would be a better choice. it should put you at 310-320 with the current mods i would say. Since you're taking everything apart why not just reseal the entire engine. Oil pan, Head gaskets, timing cover....etc. Send private message for more info

It's all about volumetric efficiency. You want air velocity throughout the whole rpm ideally, but when you go too big the air get's lazy causing loss of performance (torque).

Best way to determine carb or throttle body size for your combo is this math equation: cubic inches X max rpm your going to run (depends on heads/cam/intake factors) divided by 3456 = cfm you will need for your combo.

For instance my 347 has a targeted 7,000 rpm shifts with my head/cam/intake choices. Take 347 X 7000 divided by 3456 = 702.8 cfm. A 70mm BBK flows 728 cfm which is plenty for my 347 running 7000 rpm.

In your application, you would have to plan on winding well past 8250 rpm to warrant a 75mm on a little 302, which most will not run without some serious professional modifications.

That formula is for carburetors not for throttle bodies. Fuel pressure is differen along with volume. You use that formula when trying to figure out what size carb you need. Most ppl order the wrong one. like most carburated small blocks should be running 500-600 instead ppl put like 750 and stuff and then they wonder why their car doesnt run right.

Sorry, but cfm is cfm. Doesn't matter if it's one large throttle blade or four smaller ones.

I would also get some roller rockers, distributor, ignition box.
