My 89 gt Vert started acting up a few days ago. I will be running fine and then just shut down but it starts right back up and runs smooth. I did notice yesterday the the check engine light would come on for a second and then go away when this happened. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated this one has me stumped

Sounds like either the PIP sensor or the TFI module. Both are mounted on the distributor and get heat soaked so failure is common. I'd advise that you replace both 'cause if you only replace one, you can guarantee the other will fail soon anyway.

Im with billit...does she stall when your off the gas or idling or when ur on the gas or accelerating?

It stalls in both situations but intermittently this happens maybe 2 to 3 time per day now. I am going to replace both and see what happens. thanks for the help and I will post with results.

So I am having the same problem with my 91 gt hatchback. However mine only acts up when its raining outside or its really humid. I have changed cap, rotor, and tfi module and other suggestions or soultions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
