Default speedo cable hard to remove?

I got a 89 gt and speedo doesnt work so I'm guessing its the cable since the plastic lining is cracked on it. how do you remove the old one?

you have to take the dash apart around the gauge cluster and remove the cable from the cluster than puul it through the fire wall. then disconnect it from the tranny

on the left side of the tranny theres a c shaped clip with one bolt in it you take the bolt out and pull the cable out. I need a new cable for mine as well , my headders melted mine.
