Default trans having hard time shifting down

i got a stock 88 mustang 5.0 recently whenever i come to a stop the trans will bog the motor down almost till it dies untill i stop completely before it shifts down to 1st any ideals?

How does your car shift on acceleration? Could be as easy as adjusting your TV Cable....do a search on it on this site, top right, theres a lot of info on it. If this is not it, Id bet your rev/1st accumulator post need new seals to hold the pressure....mine were shot on all the posts when i did the upgrades.

it shifts fine accelerating, i did look it up but nothing on here really sounded like what was happening just that the automatics have some bad seals sometimes so it sounds like its a seal then i guess

I would do a tv adjustment just to be sure first.

Most AOD shifting problems are related to the TV cable, make sure that's working properly first.
When was the last time it was serviced?
