so my car is burning a ton of coolant and throwing up allot white smoke after gt40p head ,cobra intake and rocker arms.

so me and my dad took off the heads but they still looked great and so did the intake gaskets (can you visually see a gasket messed up)

So what could be my problem im really frustrated now thinking i just took off the heads for fun.

but one thing that was weird to me is that my lower intake bolts were really lose could that be my problem i only torque them to 16 foot pounds (but thats for the upper intake my mistake)

also my lower intake gaskets feel wet and the lifter Vally was filled with milkshake(oil mixed with coolant) and all my gaskets were brand now felpros

so do you think if i reinstall every thing and tighten my lower intake bolts to 23 pounds do you think ill stop burning coolant

Just get new gaskets and reinstall correctly should be fine. Dont forget to retorque everything after initial heat up/cool down.

you probably did waste your time on the heads. Re-torque the intake at least 3 times with about a week in between. You'll be surprised how loose some of the bolts are. It takes a while for the gasket to truly set.

Have you had the heads checked for cracks?

Well if you found a wet gasket and some loose bolts sounds like you forund your problem. I do agree with above replace each gasket before you put back on and ensure you are using proper torque also as noted above retorque after a few days then 2 weeks and then a month just to ensure by that time heat up and cool down should not effect. Good luck

Funny senor coupe that so many threads that I have read or even read now never have the ending posted. They just kinda linger off and go die in the corner quietly. I would love for the creator of the thread to post at least that he fixed what was wrong and what was it.
