Default Exhaust setup TOO much for stock motor?

Im deciding what exhaust setup to go with since my stock system is about to go. Are long tube 1 3/4 inch headers to a 3 inch flange, and a 3 inch off road H pipe with 3 inch mufflers too much?

All products are from MAC and I've got a 94 GT with cold air under the hood.

Steve

You'd be giving up alot of torque on a near stock motor with 1 3/4. Go 1 5/8 long tubes. If your planning on some serious heads, intake and cam real soon I might go 1 3/4 and suffer for awhile.

dood, you really need to be over 400hp for theat exhaust system, dont even go over 2 1/4 inch till you hit at least 250 hp

Am I that old already? has the word changed from dude to dood? Or is it just a spelling error? Just curious because I've seen it spelled that way a lot lately....

I agree totally with the above, but I'll tell you what, I had a friend who had 2 1/4" piping with 3" mufflers and tailpipes, and it was noticeably louder then my car. Sounded bas ass...

a set or shorties and 2.5 inch exhaust will handle your needs for along time...with those be primaries you'll lose alot of bottom end torque and will never see any hp gain because your rpm range will not benifit from it
