i just did the same and it depends on what aftermarket components you have carb, intake manifold, headers, rockers.....etc. i got a 302 out of a 89 cron vic and converted it to solid lifters......(i did most of this) rebore your block if it even clears .20 which is 302 or .30 which is 306, wash it, put all new bearings get a big cam, you can use the stock crank or which ever, get some good 351w heads with new springs and retainers, port and polish.....you can make an easy 350 if you fine tune it. i have that with a c4 bolted on, quarter stick shifter, 8.8 with 3.73 gears of a mark 7 with disk's in the back. its easy but it takes time. |
