Default swap problem

I swapped a 5.0 from an 87 gt to a 4cyl 92 coupe. I used the motorsport main harness & fuel injector harness from a 91 stang. the car runs but is low on power and I can't retrieve any codes not even the 11 or 111 code for no problems

i also have a former 4 cyl car, and i bet the people that did my conversion ran into the same prob you just did, so they converted to carb from efi. its not by anymeans low on power!

Default wiring issues?

Im doing a 4cyl to 5.0 swap Iam going carbed and auto! pretty much a strip/ little street set up I was wandering about the wiring under the hood All I will need is gauges, heat and defrost, headlights, wipers, windows, door locks,etc.. no a/c, power steering, so what stays and what goes ive disconnected the obvious stuff like injector harness and so on can I leave the 4cylinder headlight harness and ignition wiring? any help would be appreciated!!!!

Pretty much all that is'nt required is the ECU wiring. Headlights, ignition, etc will be needed and should be left alone. Are you using a MSD or like ignition system or.........? I have done MANY 4cyl to V8 swaps so I can provide a few tips I guess.

Anyone considering a 4 to V8 swap I highly recommend going carb unless you prefer the FI. The swap is way easier this way and can be more beneficial if you are looking for power vs economy. Of course I am a carb fan so I am partial.

Hello, new to forum. I just picked up a '89 Stang 4 shooter. I bought a 5.0 same year as well. Trani' is out of a '89 Lincoln though, will it work or not? I'm also looking for the rest of what is needed to finish the conversion. No wrecked '87 to '92 5.0 stangs around me.
A friend of mine on NLOC told me about this forum, hope to meet others as well here.

Mark

ive done the swap...88 4 banger and used a motor out of a 88 5.0...what they say about having a donor car is true...i mean its not impossible to do without one...just some brackets and stuff needed...and the fuel lines are a pain in the rear..cause if you stay EFI you have to either run rubber ones from your driver side to the passenger side...or do like i did since i have longtube headers and run new ones (home made courtesy of metal gas line bought at autozone) from the tank...but the conversion is well worth it...i like being able to punch it and it actually go...instead of it looking at me and laughing
