Handy little oil change tip.

For those of you who change your own oil and don't use the same oil filter brand/type every time (you can buy an oil filter wrench very cheap if you do use the same one) I would recommend going to a skateboard shop and buying some grip tape. Cut a 1 1/2" strip and wrap it around the filter before the little grooves so you can get a better grip when you have to remove it. The strip of griptape should last you at least 10 oil changes.

I got this idea from a cheap Fram filter I saw at Walmart. I guess the engineers there did do something decent.

I personally use a Motorcraft FL-A1 filter wrench that I got at Kragen, but to each their own!

No war here but i use and have always used FRAM. I have never had any problems with them at all.

Believe fram has normal and performance filters. I forgot the difference in micron readings.
