GT40 Heads onto a "70" 302 question.

I've talked to a few of my buddies who know more about 302's than I do and they say that if I'm going for a budget/junkyard/cheaper build than normal that GT40 Exploder Cast Iron heads or Gt40P's will bolt onto my engine. I'm worried about carb intake's working with the heads. Not to mention if the P type headers will fit. Does anyone have any suggestions? 302 is going in a "76" Mustang II by the way.

you may have to do some minor gasket work(i.e trimming/cutting) , but other then that you'll have no fitment problems, aslong as the engine is a windsor style, P headers just allow more clearance where the plugs go, due to the different plug angle on the gt-40p heads overall the headers are them same size and design

The Explorer heads will work fine, they'll go on your older 302 and match up to a carburetor intake.
