Default 1992 Mustang GT bad Vibrations at 3500 RPMS!

I have a 1992 Mustang GT and I just put another motor in it with 78K I was driving and my belt snapped off and I drove it give or take 2 miles to get it home, It didnt overheat or anything. The next day I went to the auto parts store in another vehicle and purchased a new belt. I put the belt on it and took it for a drive, all of the sudden out or no where I got this really bad vibrations. It only does it at 3500 rpms and up, anything below it seems fine. I can not figure out what this is. The vibrations is mostly in the shifter, the car is a 5 speed standard as well. When I first start it I doesn't do it as bad. Mostly only when its warm. Any ideas? It was fine until this happened. I was told possibly main bearings in the crank but I dont think thats the case but it very well may be. Please help!!!!!! Mike.

Check to see if your harmonic balancer didn't wiggle a little loose. Also check for servicibility of the part.

Hey man sorry to hear about your vibration problems. I Had the same problem. First id check your harmonic balancer. Id actually pull it off and inspect to see if the rubber is pushed out and or is cracked.Another place to check is your tranny mount, Belive it or not check your universal joints as well. ANd if all checks out then id be leaning towards the weight on ur flywheel flew off. Does it only do it in gear driving? or can u have the car in neutral and just rev it and it shakes this will narrow it down...cause if it does it in neutral that eliminates the drive shaft and rear end. ALSO CHECK MOTOR MOUNTS!!hope this helps.

it does it in nuetrual when i am stopped or in motion, im sure it isnt the drive shaft. bad bearings it should of blew already. I am going to change the balancer this week i dont think its internal my uncle use to build mustangs awhile back and he looked at it and thought it might of been a missfire but i did plugs wires ect. that didnt fix it. i does it hot and cold i noticed i thought it was only hot but i reved it in the morning and it still did it. i am not sure what else it can be i checked the tranny mount so far and that wasnt it, it can only be either balancer or motor mounts but the motor mounts arent all that bad neither. i am unsure but hope its nothing to bad. no knocks or ticks just mostly vibrations it almost sounds like the tranny has a internal rattle tho but im not sure. i do not however think the motor is going bad in the bottom end but again i can be wrong. i hope to figure this out this week. i was told with bad crank bearings if i press the clutch in the crank would move alittle bit so i tried that and it didnt move at all so thats another reason i dont think it is anything internal. please help guys i am losing sleep over it.

My 90 does it at 3500-up but only when you are driving not in nuetral I have read a couple posts of flywheel and clutch problems causing this concern but def could be the balancer

Ok I changed the Oil Sending Unit today and I was happy to see my oil pressure is perfect. The only thing it does is when I start it it will sit low every so often but the second I give it even the littlest touch of throttle its goes right where it should be and doesn't drop down at all only when I first start it and this isn't all the time neither so thats a really good sign. I am also almost hearing a rattle noise when I rev it up from underneath so I am almost positive that it is a transmission issue or it still maybe be the balancer and the tranny is just making this noise. Not sure yet but I am happy to see my good oil PSI.
