Default Exhaust Tips Question

I wanted to put some exhaust tips on my 1995 5.0 L Mustang GT. This is the beginning of the upgrade process. Right now it is stock. I was wondering if I could weld-on some chrome inside roll exhaust tips 18 in. long tips with a 3.5 in. outlet. The pipes are 2.25 in. Would I be able to weld-on these tips, or would there be a problem with the size of the outlet and the bottom of the bumper? I know that my friend was told that he cannot put tips in his 1992 mustang. I didn't know if I would have the same problem because the 1992 and 1995 models are totally different. Feedback would be appreciated.

Yes you can put tips on it. Just have your local muffler shop cut off your tail pipe section and put in the new tips. If the inlet is too small he can just expand the opening. one thing though, rolled tips need a lot more maintenance than regular tips. They darken from the exhaust after a while. It doesn't matter if you're running rich or not
