Default 347 stroker for my 1988 mustang

hi everybody, im new here and am about to do a pretty big job with my 88 mustang this winter and i got some questions and was hoping to get some help from this site. I've did some reasearch on this and hears what i planned on doing... useing my block and putting a 347 kit in it, i know im going to need a 28oz ballence and new flywheel and im doing the timing chain and gear and oil pump, i heard alot about a stroker will do little to nothing when using the stock top end so im going with a comp cam i think i heard they were good but still aren't sure on what kind, these were the parts i was going to get at the bigining of winter, later i was going to change the heads, any ideas on what kind of heads are welcome i dont know a big lot about what would be good for the stroker. i heard i had to go bigger on the injectors as well any truth to this? also will i need to change the computer? will my fuel injection system work with this? any other parts i will fall into needing can you can let me know.

Good and bad reviews about my plans are welcome!

thanks

Your existing EFI system will work if its a MAF car. You will most likely need 24lb. injectors or larger for a 347 build. You MUST have aftermarket heads on there otherwise you will be disappointed with the setup. Pretty much everyone on here will suggest using either AFR or trickflow aluminum heads. They aren't cheap, and your deck surfaces must be perfect. These heads flow great and dissipate heat quickly so they do have some great benefits. For cam selection and head chamber sizing you will need to tell us a little more about what you intend to do with the car. You can make loads of power above 5000 rpms with some setups but that will do absolutely nothing for you if you want a street engine. Power for the street comes in at lower rpms. Head and cam selection will vary depending on what you are looking for.

this car is not going to the strip. its sort of like a weekend car or every couple of days i take it out for a drive. im more into the low end power, i want a cam thats going to give it that rough idle if possible.

I'd recommend you buy a complete engine turnkey off Ebay, or a internet supplier/ engine builder, trying to piecemeal it all will cost more...if you want to play you gotta pay...
