Default 3g upgrade problem

ok guys here is the deal, i have read every possible sticky about how to upgrade to 3g alternator on fox body mustangs(mine is 1990 mustang gt)...but i have not been successful....here is the work i did..

1) removed the area that needed for the 3g to fit properly in the bracket, now its all gud and fit in its place mechanically or u can say mechanically is everything done and running.

2) i cut the black/orange wire and decided not to run that for 3g alternator as its a high amp alty so i ran 4g straight from the back of the alty to the starter solenoid and then from there to battery + terminal.

3) i cut the black/white wire which suppose to go to the stator single connector on the 3g and hooked that one up on the 3g with the factory single stator wire harness from the mustang.

4) i know that the d shaped connector is plug and play on 3g so i plugged that one in.

5) those old black/orange wires are still there i just put the tape at the end of it and on the side of solenoid i left it connected to it.

6) my grounds are solid.

7) put the belt back on and fired up the car and alternator is running but its not putting out any volts....all i have is battery volts 12.3V....i have checked the volts at alty and checked the continuity on all wires and they r good.....

8) i m running the underdrive crank pulley and its not a racing pulley its a street pulley which shouldn't effect the alty much , over top of that alternator is not putting out any visible volts so i think pulley is not the problem either?

9)i have searched everywhere but couldnt find the possible solution.

now i bought the alty one of the members so i thought its maybe bad then i went ahead and bought a BRAND new alty from the store and its doing the same thing....so alty is not the problem i guess...problem is somewhere else but i cant think of anything ritenow cuz all the wires r hooked up rite and tight but its still not working? is there anything i suppose to know of? any kind of hidden wire or fuse? thanks i m new to stangs and i need some serious help here lol...thanks

I just installed my 3g and wanted to leave the black/orange wires off but it is strongly discouraged by PA so I attached them and then used the upgraded wire to the solonoid as well

Got it figured all out everything working now. Alty putting out 14.80V. Now i have another question that the alty i got has a lil bit bigger pulley than stock alty and i cant put stock altys pulley on the 3g cuz of the different design. Is there any other smaller pulley available so i cant swap it wit 3g and spin it faster at idle so i cant get more juice at idle thanks

why do you need more than 14.8 volts at idle?
