Default idle problem 1988 mustang

so when i first start the car up in the morning it use to idle up to like 2500rpm and stay there for a couple of seconds, never use to before.. then whe it idles down i can give it gas back up to 2000rpm and it'll stay there for a couple seconds, even when im driving down the road and i go to change gears on 200rpm it will stay there or even go up a couple hundred rpms, it seems to be worse when shes cold.. i guess it got worse cause now when i start it doesn't idle up at all and it spits ans sputters when i give it gas when its not warmed up also it doesn't idle well when im driving and put the clutch in it'll go down on like 500rpm or sometimes shut completely off...any ideas on my idle problem will be greatly appreciated... im thinking vacume line but any ideas are welcome..

check your idle control valve with the weather change it could have gotten some moisture in there if you can buy a new one that would be good but if you just want a quick fix try taking it off spray some wd-40 in it not to much just a little get it moving freely then blow it out with an air compressor or sit and dry a bit

pull codes if you can and check your IAC valve. remove clean and reinstall.
