When I really get into the car and run it out to about 4,000 rpms or more, after i let off the oil pressure will drop well below where it normally sits. It is the factory guage, and the car is basically stock except for headers and off rd X-Pipe, and a smog pumt delete. The car did not do this when I bought it, just started.

I would try an aftermarket gauge. If it's still low, change your oil and cut into your filter to and look for metal specs. If still no, it could be your oil pump about to give out.

I changed my oil and my stock gauge read 0.. I started it up and sounds fine and I drove it no noise but the gauge reads 0..I bought a 15$ oil pressure sending unit going to install it tommorrow..Let you know..

I would try replacing the factory sending unit first. Mine started randomly going up and down while driving but it stays nice and steady after the new sending unit.
