First let me explain ... I had a 93 gt w/262 k on it, perfect condition. Could eat off engine that clean ... anyway A 16 yr old pulled out in front of me and totaled car.. salvaged everything I could except wiring. Found 89 shell no engine and wires cut at firewall !

So I got wiring harness for the 89 (EVERYTHING engine harness, dash harness) but engine/transmission/rearend (and complete interior) all from my 93...

I am getting check engine light that Ford could not determine what it was.. telling be computer is bad or wiring harness is mismatched to computer ...

What do I do ??? runs great but does not want to idle right .. replaced just about everything (new from NAPA) !

Do I need the 89 wiring harness or just the computer of neither !

Also have wires and hoses that I don't know where they go !

Some of the wiring harnesses are different. Youll have to get a dia from ea year to see what wires in the plugs need switched. The ECMs are all the same but vary by trans or Cobra. Take some pics of stuff not hooked up Im sure we can help.

What about the 02 Harness? Did you change it?

You need to run the KOEO self test. Get the diagnostic codes and post them up.

Oh yes I did ... the enitire cars wiring harness has been changed ... all from 89 gt ! Had to did not match up on some connections and wanted to be sure everything is as it is suppose to be !

Pulled computer and found it is an A3M which is from my 93 gt ..

Ford told me it should have A9L computer !

You are fine with the A3M.....

There are certain tuning parameters which actually makes it better than A9L
