manual valve body q's My motor is currently being worked on and the new Trick Flow combo is being installed. My AOD doesn't shift into overdrive and I'm gonna have a friend rebuild it. I was thinking about putting a manual valve body in it but I have a few questions. My car is not a daily driver, fuel economy and shift firmness are not issues:
1. Most shifters I have seen are a 3-speed and they have a flip button for 4th gear. Do you downshift from 4th just by switching the lever back?
2. When downshifting while driving, do you give it gas to bring the rpm's up inbetween shifts like you would with a manual transmission?
To anyone who has one, what shifter do you use? I had more questions but my mind is drawing a blank right now. I know most people are going to recommend converting to a manual transmission but I can get this done for cheap and I just don't have the funds as an 18 year old to swap to a tremec. All imput is appreciated.
