Default Throwout bearing blew up!

Hey i was racing a camaro the other night and won but ending up demolishing my throwout bearing, after the run it was hard to shift so i adjusted my clutch quadrant. Now it makes a shitload of chattering when i throw the clutch in and when i power shift hard sparks come out the bellhousing area like non other.. How long do u guys think i can get away with it before i cant drive the thing anymore?

I would change it right now. what benefit are you getting by driving it longer than necessary?

You might have a damaged clutch too - better take a look.

TO bearings come appart in pieces, the balls get out of the bearing shell, then the shell starts to come appart in small pieces, those could end up damaging the clutch or pressure plate.

DONT DRIVE IT.

Hey, just to let you know I went two days ago and bought a TOB for my clutch and the ford dealer wanted 3 bucks more than another one close by. They had the motto "Fords cost less in Athens". I told him I could get one in Huntsville for $33.00 which was actually $33.80. They wanted $36 bucks for one. So the guy at the counter says,"alright, I'll give it to ya for $33 bucks. I didn't know you could haggle with the ford dealer but obviously you can.

Get to know a Ford parts counter guy. Hagglability depends on a good relationship. I buy my parts from the same store and I try to buy from the same guy. When I went in to get 0-rings for my A/C syystem he just gave them to me.

He fixed it. Apparently his bellhousing came loose...

Hey I'm having the same problem, its really hard to shift and my clutch has been on its way out for a while. Could the TO be the culprit?

bgdog, more likelythe clutch, but it is a good idea to change everything, clutch , pressure plate , TO bearing, pilot bearing and the flywheel.

Also put some Synthetic ATF into the T5, will improve the shifts.

have a machine shop look at your flywheel, if its not to thin they will turn it for around $30.It will be good as new and save you some $
