1986 mustang transmission

In my 86 i have a c5 transmission. It drives ok but i wanna get a shift kit for it and i can't really find one. I wanted to put a c4 in it but people say to get the later year but i dont know if it will fit under the car.


95 mustang gt 5.0 HO, auto, 373 gears, MSD cap and rotor, Ford racing 9mm plug wires, accel coil, cai, pypes offroad xpipe, thursh 2 chamber mufflers

86's have aod trannies (did you put a c5 in it?)...yes you can get shift kits for aod's

i looked on the door tag i is a 3 speed c5 it was originaly a v6. Where and how much is the shift kit

I'm pretty sure the v6 cars got the aod too, but I could be wrong.

ask the guys at foureyedpride.com...they're the 79-86 guru's

its definitly a c5. where can i get a shift kit for it or is it better to get a c4 and what year of c4.

can anyone help me i have a 1986 mustang 5.0 manual transmission 5 speed my door code says 2bbtt i looked up transmissions everywhere there no code even close too that does anyone know what kind of transmission that is thanks
