My friend had it done on his car, and it made a NOTICABLE difference...well worth the money. I'll try and get some horsepower numbers for you.

Please do post the results for prices and HP gain when you get them. I'm interested in the Cobra or the GT-40 Intake.

Your Opinion?

I don't think you can really do the Gt-40 intake..that's why most people use the Cobra.

The cobra intake in stock form has smaller runners, well not length, but diameter. That is why the cobra is cheaper, but if you e/h the cobra upper it would flow better actually than the more expensive gt40. I cant wait to see the increase in power. I added the 1/2 spacer between the upper and lower and actually picked up some low end torque by increasing runner length. Just something to think about.

There is actually very little difference in flow between the GT40 and Cobra Intakes. The larger TB bore of the GT40 may offer some advantage with a larger TB.

Thats pretty cool and handy but he was talking about "extrude hone ported the rupper Cobra intake " (not my spelling..which is bad enough) not leaving it stock, something, I swear, I remember reading, you can not do to a GT-40?? Anyone else....

***EDIT** My post count is going backwards.....lol......I want zero!!!!***END EDIT***

From the flow chart and shootout, I think the cobra has a few advantoges over the rest. Thanks for the info man, If i e/h the upper it looks like I would have the flow #s that I have been looking for. You have helped me stick with the Cobra because I was actually considering getting a GT40 and selling the Cobra. Thanks bro!

What exactly is extrude honing? Does that require cutting the manifold open and welding it back together?

If you don't port the Cobra lower intake, you won't see big gains from EH of the upper intake. The Cobra lower is the restriction in the intake - just like the stock lower intake is the restriction in the stock intake.

EH is a process where a company pushes an abrasive putty through the intake to port it.

Not to worry man, my lower has been taken to the max and is alittle rough for atomization purposes. The guy who did my motor machine work did the porting on the heads and lower intake. I would have done it then but took him the motor without the upper because to pull it i had to remove it, ya know. Thanks tmoss.
