Default what’s the stock stall speed on a AOD converter

my aod tranny is stock for the moment.

I want to know what’s the stock stall speed on a AOD converter?

I’m looking to install a trans-go shift kit and a converter in my 91 lx but don’t know what stall speed to go with?

So I’m guessing if I go just above stock on the stall ill be ok?

It’s time to make my AOD more enjoyable. I’m tired of my car bogging a hundred yards off of a stoplight

yes, yes i know make it a five speed! i wish! but the wife drives it too sometimes. she wont drive a stick.

get a 3000 stall converter, and dont even bother with the trans go kit, its a waist of money, i've installed it on 2 of my cars very very small difference and no difference at the track

I wanted to put a stall in my AODE but wont that make daily driving a wicked pain in the ass? Like being stuck in stop and go driving, the car won't go until it reaches 3000RPM then with all that HP wont it lurch and you have to put on the brakes real quick? Or is it like a stock converter but at higher rpms you have more power?

when u see a converter that says 2500 or 3000 thats basically a reference, it depends on the cam, gears and brakes on what ur actual stall would be, a important thing to remember is if ur car has no lowend the converter will not really work, and no it will not make daily driving a pain, it only stalls when u realy nail it,i had B&M's in the past and i think they suck!

i'm going to try the trans-go shift kit i want to extend the powerband a bit, so the engine isn't bogging when it goes into OD right now my AOD, at part throttle, will shift from 1 to 2 at a ridiculously low 2200-2400 rpm. The 2 to 3 and 3 to OD come just as quick this is what makes the AOD tranny a dog. i'm just tired of it bogging when it hits OD if i'm not happy with the shift kit then i will put in a tci converter.

im telling u that trans go is a waste of money, if it was ne good lentech and all these other companies would not be getting rich, and to solve that 1-2 shift do u know about the manual way to shift a AOD? and it will always shift inot OD like a dog ur not supposed use OD at WOT, especially at the track , just go with a converter

A stall converter doesn't rev your car up to 3000rpm and then let you accelerate. Your car drives normally with a stall converter.

In order to make use of the stall converter, you hold the brake down and then give it gas. Your car will be able to rev up to a certain rpm before it will start to lurch forward. This helps you launch with an automatic.

a brake stand w/o spinning the wheels. With a normal converter you can only do this till a little over 1krmps then the wheels start to break loose. With a stall say a 3k one you can rev almost to 3k without your wheels trying to spin. It makes it almos the same as launching with a manual.
