Fuel smell when I fill up tank for about 20 minutes?

Got a 95 GT with plenty of mods. But everytime I fill up with fuel I get a gas smell for about 20 mins. or so..I can't find a leak or pin point the +where its coming from...you just smell the fumes inside the car. Any clues what is causing it?

the only way i could see fuel smell in the car is through the vents and that would mean from the motor area. a fuel line runs up to the fuel regulator and into the rails into the injectors, look around there. this area is on the lower intake.

I've checked the connections at the fire wall and at the fuel rails but found nothing leaking. It is strang because it only happens when I fill up and I'm careful not to "over fill." So you can see why I'm concerned.

do you wear long sleeved shirts? cuz i found out my jacket got the fumes from the fill up and i smelt it everywhere i went. wedge the gas cap in the hose to make it pump by itself so you do get fumed out.

Leaking injector,my 89 only leaked when tank was full"Don't know why.."

If it only happens when you fill up. I would check the seals on the filler neck. Check the one where the neck goes through the body at the filler door and the one that goes into the tank.

On the Fox bodies at the filler door there is a plastic chamber like area for venting the fumes to the outside. When these break around the filler neck the fumes inter the cabin area when filling. I'm not that familiar with the SN95's do they have this? If so check it out.
