Your quadrant could be a double hook quadrant and you might have it on the hook closest to the firewall. That happened to me the last time I installed my Spec clutch.

New king cobra clutch install! 
I just installed a new king cobra clutch assembly (pressure plate,throw-out bearing and disk) in my 90 model 5.0.(5-speed) The problem is, when i dropped the car off the rack i found i had no clutch pedal. The first thing i checked was the cable. It had came off of the clutch pedal fulcrum/quadrant.I put the cable back on and lifted the car back on the rack to adjust it again but found even when the cables adjusted all the way it still disconnects itself from the fulcrum when the pedal is released. what would be a probable cause for this? I also noticed the fulcrum is a new aluminum one so i know its not that.I'm thinking it needs a new cable but i never had problems with this cable before i changed out the clutch. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!!
