Default Question about 10.5 inch rims on fox stang

I was wondering if anyone had some 17x10.5 inch rims on there fox stang, and if any problems having them on? I was thinking of getting some for my 92 GT, maybe with 315/40 or 35ZR tires for the rear and a 1.5 inch drop. Would it even be possible, and if so, would I have any rubbing problems? Any feedback greatly appreciated.

youll have to remove the quad shocks and roll your inner lip on your fender. is the height stock?

it'll be tight. my brother runs 17x9.5 with 315's with a Eibach Pro
and it bearily fits his 95 cobra.

with those springs your prob going to rub. id just roll the fender and remove the quads. and you should be fine.

Thanks 410cougar for the replies. What I want to do is fit the biggest rim and tire size without having to remove the quads or do any mods like rolling the fenders. Would I be better off with 17x9 in. rims and 285/40/17 ZR tires on Eibach Pro kit?

Even with a 17x9 (275/40-17) I still had to remove my quads. I didn't have to mess with the fenders though.

i got 17x9's with 245's in the back, and it was rubbing against my exhaust before it hit the inner fender. i put on 5/16'' wheel spacers and now i have no problem....i wanna try to fit 265 or 275's when i burn up my rubber

I have 17x9's front and rear, the rear fit fine I did have to have my tail pips adjusted so they wouldn't rub. I'm running 245/45 on all four, the front rub on full lock, but not bad. I will be rolling the front fenders a little later on. I think 9" is the biggest you can run without modding. I also have 18mm backspacing. As far as lowering I wouldn't for fear i'll bottom out the front tires on the top of the front wheel wells. My friend has a 87 lx and he did get 10"s under the rear, but he did say it was a *****. and his rear tires do stick out about 2"+, thats another thing the rear end tracks diff. then the front. I believe someone said on here that the rear is about .9" smaller than the front. My front tires do stick out a little more but unless your a stang guy. you'll never know.
