this was the 10 pin connector recall It's the red/ white main terminals to the left of the engine standing in front of the car by the upper intake. The check engine light would come on during engine flex as the connections would slightly come apart because the harness was too short. I "ll see if I can find the OEM Ford recall letter with the recall # . if you are interested. It's been 14 years since the recall.

im corret in thinking that this was just a short extion harness??
i installed a motor from a 91 in my car and didnt use this short extsion
i used the engine harness from the 91 donor car . i did go back and try to use use that extsion harness and the check engine light stays on? so i took it back off car seems to run fine without it .what do you think i should do???
The recall I have is dated is March 27,1992 emission recall 91E19 which affected certain 89' 90' and 91 ' models. It was an intermittent connection in a wire assembly that may cause the "check engine" warning light to activate in the instrument panel. The letter goes on to state that this service will improve the operation of the "check engine "warning light. It also states that if the service is not done the "check engine" light may come on when there is nothing wrong with your cars engine. You are correct in stating that the fix was a short extension of the main harness(like a little jumper ) I think you shold be fine as basically the recall states that in plain englishits not a big deal lol! I have the letter if you like to see it too. BTW there are other recalls too i can see what i can dig up if you wish?

I know for sure they had a recall on the Ignition switch.
