Default Looking for a good 306 kit

Motor is out and has 110k, looking to supercharge and possibly spray so want a stronger bottom end. Any recommendations on a complete kit? Ive seen a couple kits but unsure whats included or what type of pistons are necessary for the future set up.

if you are going to all the trouble why not stroke it....

http://www.propowerperf.com/index.ph..._id=11&sort=3a

306 = 5.0 +.030 overbore pistons.....

it is NOT a stroker.......

I didnt say stroker kit I said kit, as in rebuild kit. Although Id like to go 331 I only have a gt40 kit, heard from many it wont flow right with a 331 so I was just going to rebuild the bottom end and bore it to be fresh and ready to be hit with some spray in the future.

My question is if I were to use the dss kit ( 289/302 Ford Engine rebuild kit ( press fit or Full Floating wrist pin) ) what options on that page should I choose? Or is there is a better kit anybody suggests.

JMO that kit is a waste of money.....

If you are going for a basic rebuild.....

all you really need is new bearings, gaskets and rings....

if the block needs to have the bore cleaned cross that bridge when you come to it.....

4 cubic inches will give you little if any performance increase

What if I rebuild to a 331 and after the winter switch from gt40p heads to something that flows better? Or would it not even run with the gt40 kit?

as a short term thing you could use the gt40 top end....

but understand the engine will not perform to its full pontential until you upgrade

Alright, should I just get different heads when I replace them in the future or does the cobra manifold need to be replaced too?

Also, if I chose this kit ( Pro Power : The engine parts professionals : 331 BUDGET STROKER KIT-FLATTOP PISTONS [990-21331BFT] - $775.00 ) what bore size do you recommend?

replace the intake too.....

just remember 302 parts make 302 power......

on the kit go with .030 pistons

4.030 would be the size for the pistons......

Those heads and intake will choke it down. Get a set of AFr 185 heads and a holley or TFS intake with a custom or comp cam you wont recognize the beast you unleashed. :kooky:

Sounds like a plan, maybe I could sell my rebuild gt40p heads with new gt40p headers for the same price as a good set of heads. Does anyone actually use the classifieds here? I would like to get it done as soon as possible.

People still do use the classifieds, yes. I've got a DSS kit in there but no one has been serious about it.

But yes it's another resource you could use.

I would but unfortunately the only cars around here are 4 banger rice burners... Are you insinuating that the classifieds here don't sell that easy?
