I got the numbers out of a book a bought awhile back hope this helps.
Actually, increasing the spread (numerical difference) between gears decreases torque capacity. But the change from 3.35:1 to 2.95:1 was not the only difference between the factory T-5 and the A/X/Z T-5. The 'other' changes attibuted to the increased torque capacity, not the ratio of first gear.
