Talking '89 wiring harness.

Sounds like fun, I did have the same thing going on with an ex-2.3 '86 and mine was hacked on for the electric fan and such. I got lazy with mine and sold it for a 5.0 car but you can sort out things if they aren't too bad. The bigger harness under the hood (15 or so wires) is the engine harness that all the computer controlled bs uses. The small harness is the lights, horn, signals, etc. This harness you will keep to use the lights. All the big harness won't be used with a carb'ed engine, only the power(key on) and the start(key to start) functions from the harness. This will go to your stand alone ignition like an MSD or such. All power to the rear of the car should still be there if it hasn't been hacked. Look to a chilton's for the wiring diagrams to see what goes where. and good luck with that. Laters.......
