Default traction help?!

i own a 93 gt and have removed quad shocks for tire spacing and now have extreme wheel hop in rear end i have modified the stock pinion snubber to eliminate axle movement but it really didn't help if anyone can give me a low budget fix advise i would be great. also how strong is a 4 cyl. trans. i have a 5-speed out of one until i get mine rebuilt.

Quad shocks really do help control wheel hop. I had bad wheel hop because i removed them when i installed my SSM lower control arms.

I reinstalled some cheapo Monroe "axle dampener" shocks from Oreillys that were $10 apiece and it helped A LOT.

I would do that if your spacing allows.

the whole reason for the quad shock design was to minimize the wheel hop,if at all possible put them back in.

A lot of people I know turned their quad shocks upside down to get more clearance for wider tires. Depending on your size that may work for you.

Try reversing the quad shocks and see if they clear enough. The only other alternative is to run a Maximum Motorsports torque arm to handle this...

For a "low buck" fix, replace the rubber upper and lower control arm bushings with quality urethane pieces. They will significantly tighten up the factory control arms.

I took the quad shocks off years ago, and have never had any wheel hop with the better bushings.
